A wretched bowling performance with the ball by the older members on a heavy, wet wicket allowed the hosts to gain a defendable score.  In reply, the non drying wicket proved difficult, as did an umpire not well versed in the laws of the game. All in all a batting innings to forget for a relatively capable side that on most days would have won this game comfortably.
