Having won the toss The Borderers put Lycetts into bat on a glorious evening at Eglingham. Lycetts first 4 batsman each retired at 30* but with some tidy bowling neither of them caused too much damage.
We then took a couple of wickets during the later stages of the Lycetts innings and Charlie Dunn bowled the final over of the innings - having just arrived. Lycetts scored 147/2 from their 20 overs.
In reply James Ritchie and Pete Jeffreys got us off to a good start and both Jeffreys and James Thompson – who came in at 3 – retired at 30*. C Dunn and Hugo Lee kept up the impetus with Hugo Lee scoring a solid 28* before retiring.
We then lost a couple of quick wickets which left us to require 7 off the final over but with plenty of wickets in hand. With Richard Thomson on strike the third ball of S Landale’s over went for 4, with 2 off the next the game ended when Landale bowled at no ball for height.
We then had an excellent BBQ organised by Lycetts which finished off a very enjoyable evening and thankfully a win to avenge last year’s defeat
